Mark may have a world-wide pedigree of working with cool dudes such as Mari Wilson, Chaka Khan, Ray Gelato and er, Right Said Fred, but we can confidentially reveal that his life is not without its fair share of tragedy. For Mark is a secret Sainsbury's Reward Card junkie. He will do anything to collect extra points when purchasing groceries and general household goods, and will go many miles out of his way when travelling to gigs just to get the petrol from a participating station. After covering up his habit for some time, last year it was finally brought to light by his wife Kim, who found a bunker full of special "extra points" goods buried in the garden. After being faced with the fact that he had amassed three hundred tins of "Good Kitty" pet food, he was forced to admit that he did not have a cat; that he had bought the tins merely for their point value, and that he was in desperate need of help. He is now bravely battling with his addiction and, with the aid of a professionally monitored scheme is beginning to piece his life back together. Miss Volare is encouraging him to write as part of his Reward Point Aversion Therapy, and with this in mind, he has recently completed his third book of jazz piano compositions, to be published shortly.

Mark is an in-demand freelance player - Miss V has to get in there quick to make sure she can book him…

The Jazz Dynamos, Mark's own band, are also part of the therapy, playing a combination of R&B and Jive to help take his mind off the Reward Points… Don't forget to check out their website on www.jazzdynamos.co.uk
